The Center for Southeast Asian Studies (CSEAS) at American University of Phnom Penh takes an interdisciplinary approach to this fascinating and diverse region of the world. From geopolitics to cultural heritage, climate crisis to trade and economics, the Center stresses cross-cultural understanding and global citizenship in our complex and changing world. The Center oversees the Minor in Southeast Asian Studies for all AUPP majors and includes courses in literature, the arts and humanities, law, economics, political systems and environmental studies. The CSEAS Student Advisory Committee is a leadership circle devoted to raising awareness about the Center and an appreciation of the region by holding Special Events on campus and off, including the annual commemoration of Together We Remember in April as part of Genocide Prevention and Awareness month. CSEAS can arrange Academic Exchanges and Study Tours, and the Center serves as a temporary home for Affiliate Fellows whose field research brings them to Cambodia. As part of its commitment to research, CSEAS is proud to be the only Cambodian institution represented as a member of the Consortium for Southeast Asian Studies in Asia (SEASIA).
