Bachelor of Arts in Communication (Dual Degree Program)

Program Description

A Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Bachelor of Science in Business double major is an interdisciplinary undergraduate program that combines the fields of communication and business. This program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of effective communication strategies and business principles, preparing them for a wide range of career opportunities in various industries.

The American University of Phnom Penh (AUPP) degree awarded is Bachelor of Science in Business. The University of Arizona (UA) degree awarded is Bachelor of Arts in Communication.

Career Opportunities

Graduates can pursue roles in public relations, corporate communications, marketing, advertising, media relations, digital marketing, market research, sales, event management, human resources, and entrepreneurship, among others. They may find employment opportunities in corporations, non-profit organizations, government agencies, media companies, advertising agencies, consulting firms, and start-ups. Some specific job titles that graduates may consider include communications specialist, marketing coordinator, public relations manager, social media strategist, brand manager, business analyst, and account executive.

With experience and further education, graduates can advance into leadership positions such as communications director, marketing manager, public relations, director, or even start their own businesses. The knowledge and skills gained from the double major program provide a solid foundation for success in a dynamic and constantly evolving business and communication landscape.

Program Outcomes

Graduates of a Bachelor of Communication and Business double major program acquire a diverse skill set that encompasses both communication and business competencies. They develop strong written and verbal communication skills, learn how to create and deliver persuasive presentations, gain an understanding of marketing and branding strategies, and acquire business knowledge in areas such as finance, management, and entrepreneurship. Additionally, students learn to analyze and interpret data, understand consumer behavior, and develop critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Bachelor of Arts, Communication (Dual Degree Program)

Dual degree students must complete 127 credits to graduate.

Dual degree students must meet the UA’s CGPA requirement to apply for admission to UA. Students must obtain at least a “C” grade in courses taught by UA and AUPP.
