Prof. Yonghwan Bang is an accomplished academic and development expert with over two decades of teaching, research, and leadership experience in higher education across South Korea, the United States, and Cambodia. He has contributed significantly to the field of international development and global education development, particularly through his K-MOOC teaching series, which includes courses on topics such as global education cooperation, sustainable development goals, and international development project management.
Prof. Bang has led and participated in numerous international development projects funded by prestigious organizations, including the World Bank, UNESCO, UNICEF, UNDP, KOICA, and the Korean Ministry of Education, focusing on capacity building, digital education innovation, and higher education policy reforms. His professional expertise spans multiple regions, including Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, and Africa, where he has collaborated with governments, academic institutions, and multilateral organizations.
With extensive academic experience, Prof. Bang has served in various leadership roles in higher education, including at Ewha Womans University, Konyang University, Hawaii Pacific University and the Royal University of Phnom Penh, where he guided curriculum development, strategic planning, and international collaboration. His scholarly work is widely recognized, with research publications addressing global citizenship education, higher education internationalization, and digital learning.
