Field Research Insights with Derek Richardson

On February 7th, AUPP had the honor of hosting Derek Richardson, a PhD candidate and Fulbright researcher from Indiana University Bloomington. Derek shared fascinating insights from his ongoing field research in Cambodia, focusing on his dissertation titled “Foreign Experts, Local Problems: Tracing the Transnational Movement and Application of Medical Expertise in Cambodian Nongovernmental Organizations.”

During his presentation, Derek explored the complexities of how foreign healthcare professionals adapt their expertise to address local health issues in Cambodian NGOs. His engaging talk sparked thoughtful discussions among attendees, shedding light on the intersections of global health and local practices.
