Limeng Ong

Dr. Ong earned his Ph.D. and M.A. in Political Science from Northern Illinois University and his B.A. in Global Affairs from the American University of Phnom Penh. He also holds graduate certificates in Geographical Information Analysis from Northern Illinois University and Quantitative Methods from the Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research at the University of Michigan.

Dr. Ong’s research centers on authoritarian regimes and Southeast Asian politics, with a particular focus on understanding political dynamics and institutional development in autocratic systems.

Before joining the faculty at AUPP, Dr. Ong taught Introduction to American Politics at Northern Illinois University. At AUPP, he teaches a range of courses, including Introduction to Political Science, International Relations, World History, Globalization, and International Political Economy.

Beyond academia, Dr. Ong is an avid runner and deeply interested in Buddhist philosophy, which shapes his perspectives both personally and professionally.
